Pre-C series

Post by Frank_S »

Anyone see the '85 325v59 on Ebay? It's like a half and half C series(definite 325v head and body shape, but seemingly correct pickguard, knob placement, Kaufman). Seller says it's factory.
Anyone know anything about this guitar? Is it a one off? Is it an owner mod?
It just struck me as weird. Essentially a C-series, 16 years early?
(I don't know how to post a link to this guitar, sorry)

Sorry Frank. It appears to be gone from Ebay.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Looks like a V59 with a few mods. The pick-guard is the wrong shape and knob placement even though it is a single layer. Looks like add-on Grovers, bushings and rollers on the bridge. Lennon's bridge didn't have a string cover or holes for a string cover. Looks like he forgot to change the switch tip too. 2K is a bit steep when you consider you can order a 325C58 for around the same money.

I have mine on order already Nick!
I was just curious because it addressed many of the "problems" with the 325 16 years ago.
Once again it's Ebay tomfoolery....
Did Rickenbacker jump on this guy?
Is this the mystery 325c that was spotted in NYC?

If I remember correctly, that store in NY was shelling out some BS and nobody actually saw this guitar that had just been sold a few hours before.....
