One thing I can say for the 4080 is the bass sounds very B I G. It is probably a combination of being bolted and glued (or do you prefer screwed and glued?) and the mass of that huge body plank. The low end of the 4080 is never an issue.

Yep, I saw that white one, a little pricy for me. Not sure if their worth quite that yet anyway. This is why I came here first.
I have spoken with Dave Pasco once again, I think he must hold a record of sorts for the most owned double ric's.... Dave I really would like to see your guitars all in one spot sometime. !!!! I think I have a special place to possibly re-buy one because we have done business before and our 4080 deal has to be one of the oddest transactions ever. It is nice to have options.
Now it is down to money. I am trying to sell some things now but ths is a real bad time for this. I had Ovation Custom Build a Baritone Adamas 1 cutaway Acoustic for me to do some Dave Mathews acoustic covers with my solo gigs. This was $4500, it is the only one ever built like it and Ovation is no longer custom ordering Adamas long necks so it is officially collectable. Selling $4,000..... Ibanez BTB 5 string in black $400..... Dean Double Neck Mint $1000....
One thing I can say for sure is as a Bass player the bass on top was pretty cool.......the 4080's were so freekin cool I did not care about the weight but with this project I am actually looking for a guitar to do the very same work Rutherford did with Genesis in the early days. Opening song is Los Endos........so you see my delema............. I had a tough time with the guitar neck on the bottom as well, especially for lead work, so I am considering doing a project like Dane did. Between Dane and the rest of this group I will be in good hands if I go this route.
Hey Ted good to hear from you. I know you must have something around I might be able to use? Did you ever finish that white 4003 I sold you?? How's things man?
Has anyone got a beat up bass and/or guitar that I can try and match necks up on and rebuild the bodies to make them fit? I like the idea of seperate controls as well. Your welcome to email me at home.
