Frankfurt Messe

Post by rickde »

Just got back from the Frankfurt Messe music show. Huge huge show. Tons of cool stuff. The Rickenbacker display was quite modest. It was my first time seeing the blue boy color up close. I actually liked it. I have some pics, but not sure they will post here since they are kind of large.

Rick, if you want me to reduce the file size and post them for you, send them to mortivanATwideopenwestDOTcom.

I'll ask before I send.... They are about 1.3 meg each and I have about seven or eight pics. Will your email account handle that?

Rick, if you don't have image reduction software, I have a couple of suggestions: 1) http://www.jpegwizard.com , you can reduce size online without having to download any software. It's a free demonstration site from a company who hopes you'll buy their photo editing software. You can save the reduced image as a different file from your original. 2) http://www.irfanview.com , it's no Photoshop but it's a free download and better photo editing software than you get with most digital cameras.

BTW, to post here you need to reduce to 500x500 and 36k max.

Rick,

If you want, give it a shot. I think I can receive up to 25MB, but I'm not sure. If they start coming back to you, then you know you hit the limit ;-)

Dave. I downloaded irfanview. I am able to reduce the size of the picture, but not reduce the disk space so the file is still 1.2 meg. I can't figure out how to reduce that to 36k. Will irfanview allow me to do that?

Rick, I'm far from an expert but you should be able to reduce it with Irfanview. Did you also reduce the DPI when you resized it? If that doesn't do it enough, you can also use the Reduce Color Depth option on the Image menu.

If it works like Photoshop, you should be able to save the image at different quality levels that affect the final size of the file.
