Puzzled By Serial Number

Post by spike »

I'm a Ric noob, so please bear with me.

I just bought a 360/6 from a local shop. The owner thinks it's 1998 model, but I can't really figure out the serial number.

On the jack plate above the Rick-O-Sound jack is "98" and on the bottom below the standard jack is "49124".

I checked a few of the sites with dating information and I also checked the Ric site (which kept telling me that my serial number was invalid).

Please advise,

Spike: You are correct, the RIC decoder does not like this configuration. It is, however, a 1998 model.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

Fixed! The decoder was programmed to accept this format beginning in 1999 when, in fact, this scheme was in use for part of 1998. Sorry.

Thanks!

John, thanks for fixing the decoder. I can assure you that we don't get this level of manufacturer involvement in the other instrument forums I particpate in.

This is why we love Rickenbackers!

At least one of the reasons, RIC cares.

The webmaster's wife is named Mary. He says it was a Freudian slip but I wonder.
