Thanks guys. I'm not gonna cancel. What the hell was I thinking? However, that being said, I sent an email to Steves last week asking if my deposit would be returned should I decide to cancel. I haven't had a response. I hope this doesn't mean they canceled my order???

Decided to post a pic of Holly, my Larrivee PV-09E. She came home on October 24 and I am loving this git.

Thanks everyone.

While you may receive it when expected, I wouldn't hold my breath. What is more likely is that it will be longer than expected. (mine arrived 6 months after it was expected) Who knows what may happen between now and then.
+1 on this. My bass player ordered a 4003 a little over 2 years ago. Quoted wait time when he ordered it was 12-14 months. In that time frame I purchased 4 Ricks from dealer stock that kept turning up. Power of positive visualization I guess. P's him off to no end though
He's STILL waiting

Holly's cool, I was playing some parlor Larrivées at my local dealer where I found the LV-19. I was seriously considering getting one.

Hey Lynda! Compelled to write, as there are some parallels...I bought an Azureglo 620 in 1986, sitting next to it in Zaph's music in Philly was a FG 360 model, which was $100 more. I didnt have it, I knew I had to act then and there. Bought the AG. Nearly 20 years later! go figure..I sold the 620, and bought myself a 360 JG finally (which I later converted to 370vp)
I am one of those folks who really dig everything up until "Lifes' Rich Pageant" 8) and kinda spotty after that....Im really not sure what Peter used to record "Wolves, lower" but when I played that riff on the 360 it put me in another universe and still does!
Get the 360, even if it hurts, it will be worth it, everytime you pick it up...especially when you create your own road.
Now IF you bought nothing, and just yakked you would be a poseur'.
Remember, a poseur has to be in pluralism...you are totally allowed to do Buck kneels & spins in the mirror by yourself and yes, even with a cardboard cutout Rick!! but if some one sees you...uh oh...
The great thing is, when you gig out in whatever capacity, you will probably have one of us come up and say hi !
Good luck!

Stick with it. AFAIK, most places don't return deposits on special orders, they should have that written and provided to you though? I was able to move a deposit on a 360 to a guitar my dealer had in stock (new 370 BBR). I'm also waiting for a 4003 FG and 350V63 JG since 09/2006, the waiting is not fun, but I have Rics to use while I wait! (and an Epiphone John Lennon 1965 Casino which helps a bit :) , though not a Ric it is what he moved on to from Rics)

Peace

For 86kubicki, have never played a Ric of any sort. Might take you up on your offer. Thanks.

Lynda:

We should really get a Toronto RIC get together going so that at least you can play a few RIC's before yours arrives.

I can sympathize deeply with the finances changing after ordering a new guitar... Same thing happened to me in 1994 after I ordered a new 620 with toasters... In the 9 months it took to arrive I had become unemployed and suddenly the guitar purchase was not feasible anymore. By the time it arrived I was unable to justify the purchase.

I too argue the benefits of used instruments. They do pop up every now and again. A 1996 JG 330 sold in Toronto for $1800 on ebay just last week.

I find it odd that I too play a Larivee. Mine is an Ontario made one from 1977, from before he moved the shop out to BC.

Hold on to the dream though!

Hey Lynda

I think, that so long as you can pay what you need to on the credit card......

I also think that life is very short and who knows what will change in the next 12 months or so. If you are able to go for it then do. Somethings can't wait.

I also am a Peter Buck fan and wanted a 360. I borrowed the money to buy my 1974 Mapleglo and I had to go to North Carolina to find it, but we found each other and I love it!!!! But I must warn you, that it won't stop there......

All our situations are different, but if any of my experience fits with you, then I hope it is some comfort.

Do it or regret not, a few years down the road who knows what your new house will need fixed or replaced, as well as all of the things that can go nuts. Based on your husbands recent purchase ,future ones, and the one your having made, money can be found. It took me a long time, but I finally got the Ricks I had always wanted, and have never regretted it.

Thank you everyone. It was 20 something years to even start to learn. I don't want to wait anymore and that's why I placed my order in the first place. I must admit that I had no idea about this thing called GAS though. I had no idea that within seven months of buying my first git that I was gonna own not one, but two acoustics, an F style mandolin and have a Ric on order. Forgot to mention, that in the next two years, I'm gonna buy a drum kit too. I have wanted to do that for forever, but never had the detached house so I wouldn't annoy the neighbours. By the way, if anybody is interest in my Taylor 110, it's for sale. However, it has to be a somewhat local sale..don't want to ship her.

Thanks,

Lynda

Ms. Girl,
(Buck as your photo)
As per original post, what exactly did your husband do to you to deserve to be called "stupid"?
Good luck with any and all future purchases, whatever they may be...

He said offhandedly that maybe I should get a Ric. He should know not to plant silly ideas in my head, because I tend to take him up on them.

Glad you decided to keep the order alive. Took me 35 years, but I finally got my first Rick bass I always wanted. As for GAS, beware! I now have 5 Rick basses.
