How come the 660/12 is the only style of RIC 12-string that has a wider neck? Personally I'd be very interested in seeing a re-release of the 360 RCA/12 but with the wider neck. THAT would get my checkbook rumbling for sure.
The attachment rca12.jpg is no longer available
I guess what I'm dreaming about would be similar to a 12-string Laguna with the wider (1.75") neck and gold pickguards/TRC, eh?
The RCA 6-string had a wider neck, but the RCA/12 had the standard neck width (1.63&quot;)...<br />I wonder why RIC didn't stay with the wider neck for the 12-string model.

Congrats Jerry- it really does personify / and give credibility to the "fireglo" moniker..
It looks alive...
As I think I've commented on this thread before--- I'm a bit afraid to pickup / play a 660 in person-
because I know that I cannot afford one.... and having one in my hands,
I'm afraid that I'll feel I cannot afford to be w/o one!

Adam:

That is one gorgeous Burgundy Glow guitar... I knew there must have been a few of these made over the years...

Alas for me the Canadian dollar is very weak right now. With exchange, customs/duty and shipping your very reasonable asking price becomes over $2k cdn, which is definitely out of reach for me at the moment.

I agonized over a 1981 MG 620 that was for sale in Lawrence Kansas last month, but it just doesn't make financial sense at the moment.

Best of luck with the sale! And more images would be welcome!

Man, that is one good look 'in burgundy 620 VP!

I posted that on to the forum last night after trolling around for Ric's after posting a few days ago if anyone had VP' d their 620.

Please do tell, did you add the trapeze tail piece or did see come that way?

IIRC, there was a time when one could order a Rick with either an "R" or a Trapeze.

Yup, it sure did. The trapeze was added after having the guitar for about a year. I love my Rics but I cannot stand the R tailpiece, changing strings is a hassle and as my wife said "it looks like an overly flashy belt buckle."

I really love the burgundy color, I wish it was a regular Ric finish option. It looks so tight with the white binding and pickguard. The toaster tops are rather snappy as well (and they sound awesome).

I just sent it off to Pick of the Ricks, so if anyone wants it give Chris a call.

For me, the 660 is unrivalled, in terms of looks and playability (but I do have a few other models as well!).

Currently have the following 660s in my collection:

660-MB, 660/12-MB, 660-AFG, 660-JG, 660-75AE, 660/12TP-FG, 660/12TP-JG

When I get time, I will sort out some photos to post.

Looking out for a 660AFG/12 in the UK, if anyone has one (also a 381AFG and a 381/12-AFG).
