2004 4003 on Portland OR Craigslist!

Post by Eoin »

Hi all,

There's a guy on the Portland OR Craigslist who wants to do a one-for-one trade of a 2004 4003 Jet Glow for an older "P" Bass. I spoke to the guy and if my wife would let me trade her '75 P Bass I'd drive down to Portland in heartbeat.

Just an FYI.

Too bad you can't keep the '75, and just buy the 4003. :P

Surely the '75 P Bass is worth a lot more than a 2004 4003. I would wait. Post-2006 is probably the best recent vintage.

Welcome aboard, Eoin.

'75 was a very good year for P basses (I own three of them), and the last year of the not-so-heavy Fenders (8.5-9lbs). A '75 P with no major issues is $2-3K. That's considerably more than the going price for a '04 run-of-the-mill Jetglo Ric. $1,200-1,500 is a more realistic price IMHO. '04 still has the shorter headstock, smaller inlays, and chunky neck profile.
