This is what i was waiting for. An auction of a v63 like this. Unless it gets stopped early,we'll have a nice indication of what it's worth.

I'm not putting up mine to test the market:-(

I say $1950 BTW

Well....I was going to guess around $1300.00 but then I reviewed the ad and remembered that the seller is including a Boss DB-12 Dr. Beat digital metronome in the deal. So...I'll say $1769.37.

I say between $1500 and $1800, probably closer to $1800.

I don't care how much it is, I'm just annoyed that I won't get it! I'm really beginning to hate being in the UK (why are they always "ship to US only"?); as I mentioned in another thread, the last fireglo V63 I saw here was $3125, and nowhere near mint. That's why I was so pleased when I got mine last year; except it never got here. I'd probably pay up to $1950 for that. Anybody fancy shipping e-bay bought V63 basses to the UK for your hard done-by UK colleagues? Didn't think so....

I would help you out Shaun, even though I might be bidding against you in this auction. I would just like an e-mail back from the guy so that I can sense he's somewhat legitmate.

With that said, I see nothing wrong if you pay him, have him ship it to me. I have a verified shipping address and I forward it to you fully insured etc.Would take five minutes of my ife and help a friend, no big deal.

I have no problem shipping to the UK. It' ain't cheap and I'd be afraid it'd get trashed or stolen. So far everything I've sent or received from overseas has been ok. As long as the buyer is aware of what can happen and the cost. So Shaun you can buy it and have it shipped to me. It may have to go through an extensive inspection period by myself and any of the other members of this forum who are the local to the socal area. Then we should be able to ship it to you no problem.

Well knock me down with a feather; that was NOT the response I was expecting!! I was (I thought) half joking, but now.....suddenly its serious! BTW I love that, "an extensive inspection period"!
Marc and Mike, you truly are diamonds!(I think I can hear my credit card groaning). Marc, I take it from what you've said you've e-mailed the guy and had no response yet? I may have to make some enquiries of my own. I assume you'll let us know if you hear anything. I will have to consider this very seriously (although obviously I could still be outbid anyway). Only thing is I'm not sure I'd want to bid against you Marc after an offer like that! (could I deal with the guilt of winning?)Possibly I guess.....but I'd be forever in your debt! Mike, as you may or may not have read in another thread, I bought a V63 on e-bay last year which was shipped (I've seen the docs)but never got here, so I'm fully aware of what can happen. But then when I bought my CS (oh I wish I still had it), that was shipped within the UK and arrived with the horseshoe cracked off at both sides; had to get another. So that can happen anywhere. Shipping to the UK is around $200 I think, maybe a bit more. But NOT by USPS again.....aaargh.

Anyway, thanks a million for the offers; I can see I'm going to have a long couple of days thinking about this.

Well, I put in my top bid already which I won't reveal. He takes paypal which makes me a little less nervous.

As far as shipping, everything I've shipped to the UK has gotten there. USPS has run $108-$125USD and Fedex or UPS is about $225-275 but, guaranteed in 4-5 days.

I've been shipping guitars alot lately. The box I use is 50x8x20. UPS says automatically this weighs 30 lbs. Not sure how Fedex thinks. My zip is 11572 if you want to calculate for yourself how much shipping is.

As far as bidding against me, all's fair in love and Rickenbackers, may the best man win.

Marc is a little closer to ya. I'm on the west coast but let me know if you need help. I won't be bidding, Jeff Rath has me convinced I need to come to the dark side and get a 5 stringer!
