colour question

Post by jogi68 »

Hiya!

Please allow me to introduce myself - I´m Jogi and I´m a bassaddict. For some years my only Ricky-ish bass was a nice Westone copy (check http://www.myspace.com/jogi68 for more info on myself and a pic of my Westone in action) but as I was set the task to write an article on the history of Rickenbacker basses I could no longer do with just a copy. The latest addition was this beautiful ´76 4000. I just want to confirm that this is actually Burgundglo, or am I mistaken here?

Welcome aboard. Cool looking bass.

In your case, it's probably Oldenburgundyglo

VERY cool!

I have that EXACT 4000 Rick, except mine is from 1974. Same finish!

Mine has an amazing growl to it, I presently have roundwounds, but am thinking about putting flats on.

Congrats!

I love the burgundyglo. Hope it come back as a factorycolour, so I can get a 4003BG with FWIs and maplewings. :)

thanks for the warm welcome, guys! right now the bass has rounds on it but I´m going to put on TI flats as soon as I´m physically able to do so - had a collarbone fracture three weeks ago and I´m still not able use my right hand much, let alone play bass or change strings...

actually I did have a 77 4001 a few years back but I couldn´t get it to work for me so I sold it back to the original owner. now I have this OldenburgundyGlo 4000 (I love that colour! :D ), a Jetglo ´73 4000 and a 1986 4003S, also Jetglo.
