Tony, I'd wait another day to unpack it if I was you since it's been shipped through the cold twice in a couple of weeks.
If you unpack it, you'll give in to the temptation to open the case and look at it.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS! :-)

TOO TRUE Joey....It's warming up nicely, but still feels cold...so I'll just leave it sit until I'm sure it is safe.

ON another note, RIC just shipped a 5002 FG to Mike Parks.

Looks like they are working on the LH's too!

Should be a bunch of us getting goodies this month!

Mine was still a bit cool when I opened it, but I transport my basses back and forth to church in a cold truck. I've never had any problems and figured the Cii wouldn't be any different. Give it until about 6 or so. It'll be fine!! (mine is in CA for delivery today. Woo hoo!! Maybe I'll get it back in a couple of weeks.)

Tony, have you worked out the first song you'll play on it yet? I spent three years trying to figure out what I would play and wound up noodling more than playing anything. I think I played Queen's Millionaire Waltz, but that's about it.

Cool Ryan,

ANOTHER Church bassist, excellent!

Yeah, the case is still pretty cold, so I'm a little paranoid.

I honestly haven't given the idea of what to play much thought. I'm PROBABLY going to try a little Heart of the Sunrise or Sound Chaser, then ELP's Knife Edge to see how the tone compares to the 4001/4003's in the flock. Then off to something like Pink Floyd's Money then just some scales & such.

Glad yours is making the trip pretty quickly. That must have KILLED you. After waiting so long to box it up and ship it off again. I remember when my CS went back to the factory when it was new, I was dying not having it around.

HOPEFULLY, your bass will be back in your hands soon.

It really hasn't been that bad, mainly because I haven't had time to play much. Even when it was here that week, I would instinctively go for the 4001. I'm sure that'll change over time. I couldn't get it to sound much like the 4001, but I didn't spend a whole lot of time messing with my amp EQ. The different sound is a bonus, in my opinion, because it doesn't overlap the other basses . The 4001, 4003, and 4004 all have their own tonal place, if you know what I mean.

I recently bought The Yes album and Fragile. I really like Heart of the Sunrise. I tried figuring out some of it and got about three or four measures in. I'm well on my way!!

Mine was "made" in November 08. I'd guess all the bluebursts are. I'm not sure about the others that were released. The only downside is you lose two months of the 12 month finish warranty. I think it's based on the serial number date, anyway.

Hey everyone...

Ok, here's the scoop.

08 46505 is the serial on mine. THEY ARE BROTHERS SCOTT!

The flame is not as bold as on the one's I've seen so far. It is VERY LIGHT, but it is there.

Here are some shots! I HAVE to run out the door to pickup my son from college, but will be back for a full description at dinner time.

Here we go!
