HA !! Now you right handers know how it feels !! :D
If you'd learnt how to play guitar properly in the first place then you wouldn't have any trouble!
I'll bet they said the same thing to Hendrix and McCartney ! :D

A 4003 with quilted maple top and deep trans blue. I swear I saw one of those in a store somewhere in 1986 and fell in love only to find it gone when I finally scraped up the money to go back and get it.

Of course, knowing that was never produced, I now attribute the vision to a very mis-spent youth and can only dream of a bass I saw that never existed. :D

Usually when I'm shredding, I'll be hittin up a sick lick, just going with the flow and flying around the neck. Next think I know, I look down only to realize that I'm actually fretting the neck pickup! It's ridiculous, 24 frets? That's it? Who do they think they're kidding? I say 27 frets as an absolute minimum, 30 preferred.

Greatest post I've read on here in awhile. Good grief....

Maybe I'm just grumpy tonight but I fail to see anything even remotely funny in that post............it's just plain sarcastic, borders on trolling and it's ridiculous on many levels.

That's two changes Wes... You young blokes are always over-ambitious!!!

Sorry, it's just in my nature. Sarcasm isn't really a laugh out loud thing.

Plus, is it really that ridiculous?

I dunno... I'm not talented enough or into the shredding genre enough to be able to use all those frets. I rarely find myself playing above the 15th fret. Then again, maybe I'm just not looking for myself hard enough....

And I just can't picture Steve Vai with a 27 fret 360......without collapsing in hysterics....

So, they made it back from their stint in the Marines, and now find themselves at the mercy of Robs employment. If they thought they had it tough before

As far as 1 change, I would like to see 330s come with double binding and soundhole binding standard. Anything else, from me, would be highly subjective and possibly offensive to the current folks at RIC, and I'd really rather not go down that road.

That proves nothing Wes other than: (a) you know nothing at all about marketing (market research, target market identification, demographics, psychographics etc.) or managing a business such as Rickenbacker and (b) the lengths you will go to simply to be a smart Alec, even to the point of veering completely off topic.

Scotty's question was: If you had to change one thing............what would it be? One thing now........

Now if yours was a humorous post then I could see some value in it..........

Mine would be very simple binding on the 330 fretboard / slash hole.
The first day in the job, I would get you a spell checker Scotty!

This is a difficult one. I really like what Rickenbacker are doing now - body shapes and necks are becoming slimmer and more elegant, colour is more intense and smoother graded, the electrics are smarter and detailing is finer. Tough to add to that sort of positive progression.

It would come down to markets and influence, but I suppose I would like to look back to the Rose Morris series. Not just because of the looks and sounds of those guitars and basses, but also because it seemed to be a time when the UK was more influential – I mean we got our own Rickenbacker series!

If I was allowed a second action it would be to arrange lunch with Mr Gordon Brown and discuss dropping the import tax on very specific luxury American goods.

This post is sure to offend some on here, and let me add by saying that I love Rickenbacker guitars. I have owned several, and my 1998 360/6 in fireglo is probably the best guitar I have ever owned.

I think the biggest problem with Rickenbacker guitars is the necks are simply too hard to play for those with large hands. I know that the 650 series, with their larger necks, were designed to combat this problem, but that isn't necessarily the solution to the problem. I would MUCH rather have the easier-to-play 650 neck on a standard 330 or 360, complete with the 650's bridge assembly and humbucking pickups, as well as the four-control layout minus the blend knob. Rickenbacker came close with the 380L Laguna model, but even that isn't quite what I (and I am sure others as well) are after. Basically, I have no use for a 650, 660 or 380, I just want a more playable 300-series instrument. If I were in charge, I would make sure this instrument went into production ASAP.

Now don't get me wrong, I don't want the current instrument (as well as the older-style ones) to go away, I just want to give a player more of a choice. A Rick player shouldn't have to switch models to get a more playable instrument. Players have long complained that Rick's standard necks are too small, and I think this should be rectified.

I LOVE the slim necks and the fact that I can get my pigeon-feet-fingers around them. Takes all sorts. EDIT - OK. you've tried a 660

+1!

I'm so used to playing the slim necks on my Ricks now that if I play my Gibsons, Fender or gretsch for any length of time my fingers ache!

Nothing feels like a Ric, and I hope they always keep it that way.
