Why thanks, Mike. For all the bashing JG gets on this forum, I can't imagine a cooler looking V63 than Ron O'Keefe's 4001V63JT.thb_bassman wrote:rickaddict wrote:Somebody here has a 4001v63 with gold plastic, but I'm forgetting who.![]()

That dude knows how to take a photo!
Congrats on your new bass, Ron!

Sorry, Mike. Maybe Ron will sell it to you if he gets tired of it!thb_bassman wrote:I am so sorry I missed out on that bass!
I am starting a fund, setting aside some every payday, hoping specifically for the day that becomes available again!
Cool panhead, Mike. I think Rick lovers tend to lean toward vintage/retro in their preferences for other stuff too.thb_bassman wrote: That just KILLS me...all I'd need is that bass and my old panhead and I'd die a happy man.
Oh, and uh, maybe the wife...

I will take a better photo of my V63 when I get home and post it. Woody is right. The photo I posted is too small.

Yep. We need the Grande version for the full effect.simer4001 wrote:I will take a better photo of my V63 when I get home and post it. Woody is right. The photo I posted is too small.

That is no typo in Jeff's post -- the JG with gold plastic was his "creation." That's why it's referred to as a 4001V63JT = Jeff Thomas!rickaddict wrote:

Did you get the pictures I sent you? Maybe you could post one of those for me. If not I'll snap a few when I get home this evening.

Congratulations on the 4001v63JT! I was after it immediately after he posted for sale, but couldn't produce the needed money until...well, then you got it.libratune wrote:That is no typo in Jeff's post -- the JG with gold plastic was his "creation." That's OK, just remember me if you decide to part with it?
I'd appreciate that.

It's kinda hard to see, but if that isn't a Triumph, it sure missed a good chance to be!
One of my 'associates' from the Navy years rode his 1972 650 Bonnie from San Diego to New York after he got discharged, and was still young enough and crazy enough to do it. That thing shook like mad but was reliable as an anvil...he made the trip with no major breakdowns...I remember it was a positive ground system...strange, what I remember.
The '64 pan and I usually do a trip to Illinois and back in the summer to partake in a smelt fry, which you can't get out here. Yummy.

In an effort to "give the man what he wants" (see thread topic), and with all due respect to Brian, who was the inspiration for this project, my 4001V63 MG has "borrowed" the gold plastic from the 4001V63JT for this once-in-a-lifetime photo shoot.
