Ah, 1978: that explains it. I was deep into my Blind Willie McTell/Blind Blake/Rev. Gary Davis/Merle Travis/Big Bill Broonzy/Doc Watson period then.

I was in a band with a guy that suggested he bring his DB meter to rehearsal and gigs to control volume. He was out of the group shortly thereafter. If I wanted to play quietly, I'd be doing Barry Manilow and Air Supply covers in Casinos. By the way, if any of you ever walk in to a Casino and see me doing this, please, please kill me!

What's the point of having great equipment if you can't use it? Goverments should focus their efforts in to feeding starving children in their own cities rather than idiotic stuff like this.

From governments to intenet forums, the world is full of people that want to control what you do, say, hear, read and think!
Resist!
And if I do see you in Vegas doing Manilow and Air Supply covers, firstly, WOOHOO! I MADE IT TO VEGAS! Secondly, I'll leave you to it man, that's your choice and I respect it.

Volume controls go to 10 and in some cases to 11 for a reason.............

Mike if I see you doing Manilow and Air Supply in Vegas there are two things that will happen..............(1) I'll consider the premise that what goes on in Vegas stays in Vegas and (2) I'll get you to write out the chords and give me your autograph (just in case).............based on the theory that you must be doing something right to play in Vegas in the first place.

'The man' invented volume controls so he could tell you to turn it down.
If it was up to the people, all amp volumes would be fixed at 11 with an option to boost to 12 when necessary!

Not a chance.

I'll be down the front with a lighter ready in my hand.

That's what I'm talkin' about!! :D

Rob, you've inspired me to start playing ice skating rinks and bowling alleys. I'm either getting tired of rockin' out or have a death wish
