This is a difficult one. I really like what Rickenbacker are doing now - body shapes and necks are becoming slimmer and more elegant, colour is more intense and smoother graded, the electrics are smarter and detailing is finer. Tough to add to that sort of positive progression.
It would come down to markets and influence, but I suppose I would like to look back to the Rose Morris series. Not just because of the looks and sounds of those guitars and basses, but also because it seemed to be a time when the UK was more influential – I mean we got our own Rickenbacker series!
If I was allowed a second action it would be to arrange lunch with Mr Gordon Brown and discuss dropping the import tax on very specific luxury American goods.
Brilliant Mark, I'd never really thought about the Rose Morris being a British series, lets have another.
Though most of the RM's seem to have migrated back 'home' to the US, must be some sort of homing device fitted into the electrics, that's it! That's what the 5th knob is!
