Do I also spy an Acoustic 370 bass head? I used to have the 371 (370 head and the massive 18" folded horn speaker cabinet) back in the day. 'Bout the only thing heavier was an SVT.

Yes, that is a 370, and you can't really see it but it's sitting on top of a 301 cab. At risk of going off-topic:



I'm a big fan of Acoustic amps. It's not shown in that picture but I was playing the 360 through an Acoustic 154 rig (150 head and 104 6x10 cabinet):



The other amp in that picture is an Acoustic 125, also a great amp but only a single channel; I like the 150 because the two channels allow occasional adventures in Rick-O-Sound.

Yep, that's the one!!! Man it was loud! I used to set up the equalizer in a "smile": up on the ends, down in the mid-range. Ended up moving from Mass. to Colo. in 1977, so sold it off in Mass. It's probably still there somewhere, loosening rafters.

That's one of Gretsch's "Historic" series, made in Korea, probably in '01 or so. It's the prettiest of all of them, IMO. I believe the model designation is 3160 or 3161.

These are coming up fast, both in players' and collectors' estimation. Very nicely built with a touch of pre-Chet cats' eye sound hole style.

It's a 3160. It's a very well made guitar but I'm not really an archtop guy. Honestly I got it because it was gorgeous and it was cheap (garage sale find in Pennsylvania!!) Same thing with the Les Paul...it was too good to pass up for the price. For playing, I pretty much stick with my Fenders and Rics.

Yes, John, it's deliberately confusing...the band started as a three piece, my wife on drums and two of her coworkers at Wax Trax Records on guitar and trombone, just getting together in our living room reading tunes out of the jazz 'fake' book. I wound up joining on bass and we got a second guitarist and began playing out, but we all liked the name and have never changed it. In the ensuing years, we have picked up a sax player, a guy who plays trumpet with us when he's available, and for a time we had a guy playing vibes (he's since become the drummer for Dressy Bessy). We've had up to eight people on stage at times, and none of them are named Perry Weissman, but the name remains unchanged...

Our motto is: "wherever three or more are gathered"...
