Nice bass!

F.Y.I. Beware of Sean's "dark influence". You'll be looking for black trim on Ebay!

Very nice Don. I like the FWI. I sometimes wish my JG 4003 had them. In reality though my bass is perfect. I would not change a thing just in case it somehow altered the tone that I get which btw, is out of this world. :D

Jeez, it's not like your name is Don Mapleglo.

Yeah, it's Don Jetglo. You do need to do something about your hair, though; IIRC it is closer to Mapleglo!

Welcome comments all, only one of the culprits has surfaced :D
One reason to get this one is to have a daily driver that I can take out.I don't want to take any of my other 4003s out gigging ,I want to keep them pristine. The JG will do that duty after any adjustments necessary, but due to shipping damage, I can't yet even touch it until I hear back from the seller. The bass seems ok, but the case is broken and the bass has a lot of fingerprints on it.If it was sent clean then the prints would indicate that it was broken open , inspected and resealed to hide the damage until delivery.I'm preserving evidence until UPS inspection, if any.At least, I'm due a new case.

I prefer PLATINUM to plain old grey.

After communicating with the seller, the prints could be theirs, and a claim has been started. So, I wipe it off and play it, it's still in tune but tuned to d.Retuned, it plays ok, but I'll want to take out the neck bow.
The bridge pup sounds great and even thru all strings, but the neck pup is almost dead. :(
The volume and tone controls seem to work, so I probably won't find the problem for a while, maybe at string change when it will be easier to lift the pickguard.Meanwhile, I'll get a battery for my meter and check resistance.
The bass sounds good enough to use, just on the bridge pup anyway.

Generally the neck pickup is a lot quieter than the bridge pickup (diff. magnet strength).

It will be quieter but not "almost dead" sounding.
