I use mine at pretty much 12:00 on each knob and just set on normal. I use it as a clean boost for solos, or when I am picking something that I want to pop out.

I don't use it when playing rhythm usually, I like being able to control the dynamics with my hand when I do that.

How is a Janglebox for nailing The Who's sound? Such as "Can't Explain", "Anyway, Anyhow, Anywhere", "My Generation", "Kids Are Alright" or "So Sad About Us"?

I know this is off-topic (maybe), but what about a Janglebox with a Strat? I know it's probably a very weird combo, but it's worth a shot, if I decide to get a Janglebox...

Not necessary.

It's a compressor. Nothing weird there, it works well with any guitar.

Good combo. You can nail the Nowhere Man sound, also works good as a solo boost.

Thought I'd ring this up from the dead, but for those of you who play bass, you tried a Janglebox with your bass?

Not that this means much, but, several months ago, I plugged our El Cheapo Johnson bass into the Janglebox and it didn't make much of a difference. It could sound different/better with a Ric, Fender, etc. Someone else can comment on that.
I have plugged 6-strings into it, and it makes a six string sound brighter and more aggressive. I plugged the Casio keyboard into it once, and it produced a very weird, undesirable fuzztone. Then I plugged my hairdryer into it, and I wound up like this... :D :) :P

On Ebay last week a prototype of the Jangle Box II sold that the seller said was due to come out soon. Posting said they got a hold of it at the NAMM show. It sold for around $275. I tried to find the completed listing on it to post some pictures with no luck. Interesting - was in removed?

There is not anything about it on the Jangle Box web site.

The box was silver, about three times as large than the current version with quite a few more adjustments controls.

When I first plugged in to my VOX AC15 with my new 360/12 I was a bit disappointed. I just couldn't quite get that sound I was looking for.

Then I ran across the Jangle Box.

After the first G7sus4 cord it was: "OH YEA, BABY! THATS IT!"

Wonderful piece of kit.

A few corrections to Rick's post.

In January, our assemblers put together about a dozen units of the new JB2, and we offered them in advance of our website re-launch on TheGearPage.net. I didn't see the Ebay listing, but the pre-launch units we offered weren't protos or betas, but actual production models, with complete packaging. They weren't sold at NAMM, nor were we at NAMM.

We've had to temporarily suspend production of the JB2s to focus on our JangleBox backlog, which was getting severe (we'll continue to manufacture the original JangleBox along with the JB2). Despite the horrible economy, our sales for November, December and January were very good.

There's a thread in the "Others" section describing the new JB2.

We're working away at the new website, but there are some hang-ups with the shopping cart, far beyond my technical expertise to explain. Otherwise, we're making progress. If you'd like to see a preview on the staging server, go to:
http://02c8bf0.netsolhost.com/

The site obviously isn't active yet. No store, and several glitches still, but we're getting there.

Steve,

Thank you for posting the correction and update.

When I first saw the Ebay listing I went to your site to check it out but was not smart enough to find the info in the other section. What I saw listed on Ebay sure looks intersecting.

Once it goes into production will the original one be discontinued?

I thought the Ebay listing might have been deleted because someone had sold something they shouldn't have. Try as I might, under completed listings I can no longer find it.

No. We'll continue to make both the original JangleBox and the new JB2.

I have heard many people swear by the Janglebox, and I have been giving it some consideration. But as to it's availability, and the order backlog mentioned, just what is the normal wait time if I were to order one directly from the company? Hopefully their situation is not comparable to that or RIC.

Currently the wait is about 5-6 weeks.

If there ever was a wait that was worth it, this one's it. Order up! Oh, and BTW, I'm not related to SL nor do I work with or for him. I'm just giving props to a great piece of merch built by cool folks. Late.....Goofyfoot.
