The 4004Cii Mapleglo Picture Thread

Post by cjj »

Hey, I had to do something interesting for my 1000th post.

Anyone else have some nice pics of their 4004Cii MG to share?

Here's my new one, should be "home" in a couple of days:

Wowsers! You're not actually going take that work of art out of its case and play it and get it all smudgy and funky, are you?

Stunning!

Yeah, well, as I mentioned in another thread, the 4003MG just didn't "do it" for me. I actually considered for a while, hacking the body wings off and making new ones out of some really nice figured maple I've got, but I just didn't like the neck, feel or looks (lots of dark mineral streaks). Anyway, I figured, why do all that work on a bass I really didn't like, so it went back to the dealer.

Then I saw that 4004 and thought, do I really need another 4001/4003 type? Maybe it's time for a change...

Sorry, I haven't been following threads very well. Your 4004 looks neato.

 wowsers!! that tiger striping makes my cii, which i think is beautiful, look SO very plain......with the lack of other ornamentation on these, the figured tops are almost a must.....certainly ups the cachet... THAT one looks like a boutique bass!! i will post a pic of mine later when i recover..... :(
