They were a favorite of mine too, back then.

I think they're still together, or at least were at some time recently. I heard them in an XM Radio studios live gig not too long ago. I could tell it was them before the announcer said so.

Yeah, they still gig. I too heard them on XM. While my middle daughter was home from college over one summer I was on a vinyl kick and I pulled out the Recycled album and she really enjoyed that. Still good music.

 Mid of '70ies, they lived in Seeheim close to my hometown Ober Ramstadt and had their rehearsal room (an old dancing hall of a pub) in my village Wembach. However those days I was just a beginning teenager and not interested in their music until the '80ies.

Minneapolis area, actually, but really enjoyed my visit to Milwaukee last summer. I see that your profile says you're from around there; if you haven't seen that Les Paul exhibit, it's well worth a look. I'd love to see a similar show someday featuring historic/prototype Rickenbacker stuff, in case anyone is listening. :)

I usually do not impulse buy, but when I saw the photo of my bass on the dealer's website with those great FW inlays, well, ...................

You really do need a JG 4003 to complement your new AFG 4003. :D

As the good little woman said many years ago:
And restistance was futile. See result in new thread.

That show took place at the Museum of Making Music in Carsbad, CA, during the Rickenbacker 75th Anniversary celebration, a couple of summers back. It was a well-produced overview, although not all-inclusive. Perhaps some of our members who attended could post some photos.

I just noticed this topic. WOW! Lots of cool stuff here. I'll have to post a couple of my modded basses when I can find the "before" photos. LOVE that flame job on your 4004Cii 'Blackstar,' Brian!

I know. I should have gotten here sooner. I'm beginning to realize that showing "fashionably late" is stupid.

I could show the stuff I have now, but I'd like to find the pics I have of the basses before they were changed to give the full effect. One a deze days...
