I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

Forget the wide necks...I want a narrow neck on the 660/12!!

I would listen to the people that buy my products . Be open minded . Start a custom shop . Offer different appointments such as checker binding on a bass as a custom order option.Communicate with the consumer . Ask questions .What can i do for you .Is there a particular color that you might like as an option for the coming year .e.t.c. :D

Same as always - Wide neck on the 330/360 12 stringers so my sausage fingers could play a C chord without muting half of the strings. Ahh to dream...

Would you say all those things to a meeting of RIC employees including the CEO held in the living room of your house or apartment?
yes,
I suspect that in all probability the tone of the message would be a bit different. Perhaps a little more diplomatic even?
you dont know me very well.... I WAS being "diplomatic"! :D That meeting at my house would be open and freewheeling. Hopefully we'd have some fun and all part friends, but making friends wouldn't be my primary goal upon entering the meeting. I'm sure I'd learn more from them than they do from me, but that fact would not slow me down from giving my opinion, diplomatically or otherwise. I suspect that my opinion might even change as a result of that meeting, but my CURRENT opinion is based on [albeit limited] phone and email contact with RIC..... including once being (mistakenly) CC'd on a long RIC email trail that had started with my very polite (I swear it!)suggestion on how they might improve the pickguards. That email gave me some insight into the low regard a customer with a suggestion is held by upper mgt (yes, Mr Hall was part of the email trail).
[note: It was a long time ago - mid/late 90's? - and I dont have the email anymore, so please dont ask me anything about the exact content.]

Kent: Please, if you have a concern about customer service at RIC, I would ask that you take it to them.

Peter... I have nothing specific to discuss with them at this point. I'm just trying to be open and honest here. I do realize that this subject can be a touchy one on RR. and my intent is not to open a can of worms. However, from previous RR discussions on the subject, it's fairly clear that my experiences with RIC are not completely isolated.
