Nice one Matt.

Greg, I see where you're coming from re: Brandi Carlyle, but I have to disagree with you on Brendan Benson! :)

Just got back from vacation a couple days ago, and the CD was waiting in my mailbox.... Just got it converted to iTunes and am listening to it right now while I work at my desk. I'm about 3 songs into it, and so far I like it.... more feedback later! :D

Thanks again, Rob!

Okay.... got a chance to listen to it twice through today, and here's my take on it....

Loved the Brendan Benson song....just sounds like a familiar story about somebody I might know! Also liked the 60's retro pop sound of the Teenage Fanclub song (I liked their song on the other CD too; maybe I'll have to check some of their stuff out).... Also liked the song "You Will Be Loved" by Future Clouds and Radar--I like the optimistic tone there. I really didn't like the Nick Cave song--I found it too dark and depressing and it went on way too long. I loved the Brandi Carlyle song--perhaps a little over the top in the drama department--kind of like something from a Broadway musical, but I could relate to the angsty feeling of unrequieted love that resonates through the song--she really seems to put her heart into it. Most of all I loved the Sia song. That one hit very close to home, and there were tears in my eyes by the end of the first listen. I think I may have to cover that one.

Thanks Mel.

It's nice to introduce poeple to one or two new things! :D

Looking forward to hearing your Sia cover.

Rob.

Just found these vids of Sia.
I can't believe I missed her on Jools Holland.
Such a talent.
