Official Prediction Thread- C series replacement

Post by chucksimms »

OK, Rick's pulled the 4001C64 and C64S. Let's see who can accurately predict:
One, when they announce the new bass.
Two, when it is actually shipped.
I'll start. Announcement will be August, 2009. No reason, I just don't see them waiting all the way to NAMM.
Dealer deliveries will be February 2010 (not as much hassle to tool up as for C series launch, but they'll shoot for December deliveries and not get any out till February).

I love all the speculation and enjoy partaking in it, unfortunately we usually wind up being wrong. :(

I think it is going to be a good long while, sales are way down in all areas, I'm surprised they lasted as long as they did.

I wouldnt expect anything soon.

Discontinuing a model thats not moving very well and concentrating on the backlog makes sense. We all would like them to make everything available all the time, but thats not very likely is it ?

Concentrating on the backlog for now, keeping QC tight, and maybe a new design / designs for when this depression, ( yes, I said depression) might pick up, makes sense to me.

But what do I know? Im in the trash business.....

Laugh if you will, but there will always be trash.......

I'm not sure when the announcement will be, but I'd speculate at least 2011 before they start shipping (I'm not talking one or two that get made for NAMM being shipped...). It took a long time to get the C series out the door and right now it takes 2 years to get a 4003.

My predictions:

Announcement: January 2010
Shipment: June 2012

But how does that overlap the C64?

This seems more realistic to me. :|

The economy has to be cutting down on the amount of new orders, maybe RIC will get a chance to catch up.

I second the January 2010 prediction.

I have a feeling that whatever it is, RIC is building some already or very soon. I know JH hates to be held to time lines once he's announced a new feature or option, so I think this time they'll have some ready when the announcement comes. I don't think Ben would tease us and leave us on the hook for two years.

I with Dane - I also don't think Ben would leave it hang for 2 years. My prediction? We will know when the official RIC announcement comes.

I assure you, there are no plans to discontinue the 4004's.
Hmm..........Maybe thats the clue. Perhaps a deluxe version of the 4004? :?:
