Yes I do. Yours is displayed correctly Jaymi. :) The clue is where St. Patrick's cross (the thin red one) appears. Is that my old Cheyenne?

Not much change from freshman year (except my scraggly college student hair is a bit scragglier), but Mr. Montezuma Brown has treated me well, so here's an update. Forgive the dorm room messiness, the lack of an awesome action shot of me in a sweet concert with lots of screaming fans, etc. Just a geek in his room taking a break from writing thesis papers. Oh how sweet it is to be almost twenty-two.

Also, you might be able to see the "battle damage" on the headstock. Alas, that is not from me rocking out too hard, but rather from me taking my bass off of my shoulders one day and whacking it into the ceiling fan.

Ted, you sure on the Union Jack? I flipped the photo upside down, and it looks the same. I know that "out of register" look to the red stripes is correct. Perhaps you mean we're looking at it from the wrong side? But then flags should be mirror images when viewed from the "other" side. I'm confused . . . but then it wouldn't be for the first time.

The "Union Jack" (sic) can be displayed several ways...but when its asymmetric form is used (the one with the white stripes of two different widths), the upper left diagonal will have the wider white stripe at the top. This will not look the same flipped horizontally nor vertically.

I researched this when painting Russ Rubman's 340/12 UJ.

The picture above shows the flag in its correct orientation if the pole is on the left. The thin red lines are called St. Patrick's cross. Notice how the red lines are not centered within the white lines of St. Andrew's cross? That is the key. When the flag is hung as a banner it is supposed to be shown as Paul's picture depicts it. I did not mean to start anything - just a anal retentive observation. :)

I guess what I was getting at is that if the flag as Paul W. shows it was ROTATED 180 degrees (in essence, upside down) it would indeed look the same. However, if FLIPPED horizontally, it would be wrong as below. So actually, your band mate is hanging it FLIPPED or possibly with the pole to the right (depending on how the flag is manufactured).

Ha! Thats easy for you to say, Ronn. Actually, it's pretty easy for me to say, too...

So, back now to important business: what does the phrase "hanging it FLIPPED" mean in Cockney slang?

(And I'll take my answer offline if it's too provocative...)

I know what you mean, Ronn. But there are a few vexillologists out here. Need more than one hobby. Or two.

Actually I'm a vexillologist who has gotten on the person who puts up that Union Flag MANY times as he usually gets it wrong, but the seemingly un-ending discussion of it here is wearing thin. Or is this "Post a picture of you FLYING your flag"?

I sure did not mean to offend. I did say "nice job" on the youth string thing. :)
