Congrats Sarah, I now have a hankering to get a used 4003 and get it refinished in white! Most excellent! :mrgreen:

Ah, thanks everyone....it is lovely sharing with others who are interested.

After the initial shock of seeing the bare neck, I have to say that I really like the look of it too. It actually feels really good and although I am not too sweaty usually (!!), it is obviously, over time, going to suffer from dirt etc. Paul W has been really kind and helpful and he suggested matte conversion varnish. I am going to do some hunting for someone who could do that for me.

I am really not sure what the paint is. It is better than I remembered and has been sprayed fairly well, though it is wearing off as you can see, so it needs attention. It has two places on the body that have straight, criss cross scratches. One of my friends who saw it said it looked as if someone had been cutting coke on it....maybe they have!

I think this should be the next COY - Cocaine white!!!!
