Yep! Play it safe and give them at least 24 hours in the case, Graham............ especially the Rick.

So i picked up the guitars today from the UPS store after getting seriously lost on the way. The guitars have been huddling for warmth and hanging out on my bed until tomorrow when I open em up. Here's some shots that should be a huge clue as to what they might be.

Well, that narrows it down, eh!JakeK wrote: the non-Ric is either a Fender Tele or Strat or a Gibson of some sort.

Re: I just bought a......
This weekend I flew from Germany to the Canary Isles with my Gibson ES-335 in the cargo hold (the Ricks are being transported by sea, safely inside my car). It was just above freezing when I left Germany and around 20°C (68°F) when I arrived in the Canaries. The cargo hold was obviously very cold because the case was cold to the touch when I picked it up.arbiter wrote:The guitars have been huddling for warmth and hanging out on my bed until tomorrow when I open em up.
The case warmed up really quickly in the back of the car in the tropical African heat so Ifeared the worst.
When I arrived home just over an hour later the case and guitar were quite obviously at ambient temperature so I opened up the case. The guitar was still pretty much in tune and the finish was unaffected.
I'm sure it's better to be safe than sorry but I had no real choice about letting my guitar aclimatise slowly but it survived OK.

More than likely a 660/12 in the RIC case (Collin, fire up that grill and get the steak sauce ready, I'm eating me a foot sandwich!)
Probably a Fender in that other case.

Re: I just bought a......
Well, it does say Fender on it.....I was trying to make it fairly noticeable
Re: I just bought a......
And if I'm not mistaken, those are the new cases that Fender is using on the American Standard Series as of last year.

The time has come for the unveiling! Here they are:

an attempt to capture a bit of the metallic paint

The Story:
Well, I sold my 2005 360/12 MB VP. Yup, just couldn't bond with it. I had been considering selling it for awhile, and all it was doing was sitting in my closet at home. For some reason i didn't enjoy it nearly as much as any of the 12's i got my hands on while in Australia such as Aitch's 350/12, 660/12, or Brett's 355/12 JL. I just didn't like the way it played. It sounded great though when i could play it. So its gone. I did manage to get $2200 for it though, which I think was pretty good. With that money i decided to make these purchases from wildwood. The 620 MID and American Standard Tele Natural (Ash body). I got the 620 for 1280 and because I bought two guitars he took 100 off the Tele bringing it to $1000. Total of 2280, so I only spent 80 bucks. I know some probably think I may have downgraded, but i know ill play these a heck of a lot more. I'm really glad i bought the tele when i did because between the week ago when I bought it and today Fender has instated a price increase and its now selling for $1420!!! An increase of $320. Looks like I just snuck in.
The Reviews:
The 620 is pretty great. I was inspired to get it after loving howards 620 Turq. I opted for the 620 cause I like the smaller neck than on the 660's. I went with MId cause someday I hope to get a 660/12 JG, and a 350 MG. The blue is definatly more of a "midnight" than those of about five years ago. It's very dark in some light, but bright and metallic at other angles. The full widths definitely "pop", and the bubinga has some nice grain. I feel like the full width's trick my brain into thinking the neck is a bit wider than it is. I must admit, I forgot how tiny the 620 feels overall compared to my 360. It's a baby. It obviously doesn't have the acoustic qualities of the 360, but I think I can notice a slight difference in the sustain and there's certainly a bit of twang.

The tele is fantastic. Great twang and a nice smooth maple neck. The finish on the fretboard makes it shine beautifully in some lights. It sounds great clean and with a bit of overdrive. The only negative i'd say is that the pickups don't handle a lot of gain that well compared to my friend's tele with a Duncan lil 59 and hotrails, but i guess that's to be expected. I'm not planning on changing the pickups though. Leads and blues in general sound great.

Congrats on joining the 620 club! Love the smaller headstock - it is really noticable next to your 360

Great looking guitars Graham,congrats!
I love the Tele,i had a great 52 reissue about 10 years ago, couldn't bond with the neck so moved it on,i know ,i know ,should've just got a new neck, but i needed the cash for a 57 6120!
I actually came across it again around 2003, but didn't have the green to buy it back .
But hey , there's plenty more out there !

Nice, i considered a '52 reissue, but I prefer the C shaped neck to the U on the 52.
