I could have bought a 65 sunburst P bass with an A neck for 1500.00
That would have been sweet! I'd like to find one of those!
Me too.... :D

I'm currently looking for a great playing 60's P to go with my J. Just love that bass sound, both with flats and rounds...

Yes I've been kicking myself since then. The 68 P bass I had had a 66 J neck on it (oval tuners too) and the 65 P bass's neck was exactly the same except of course it had a P bass decal on it ( Idon't remember what kind of tuners it had although if they had been oval I think I would have remembered that). This was at a guitar show and actually what happened was that I told the guy I was going to go home and think about it, when I called him that night, he told me he had sold it 15 minutes after I left. This was also in 2001 or 2002 and prices have gone up a lot more since ebay has become so prominent.
