New guy here... 4001 or 4003?

My two 4003's - a 2003 and 2008 - differ totally. The 2003 has a far bigger neck compared to the '08.... (the '08 sounds better).

But, as has been said, don't forget the 4004.....different again, but what a tone!

Now I 'thought ' the biggest difference was the 4001 had softer frets and would wear quickly with the 'new' round wound strings. The 4003 had stronger frets (and a two piece pick guard).
