Way to stick with this. I bet their not used to that.

I hope you get these guys for the value of the guitar AND all of the trouble they're putting you through. It always bothers me how they have no problem offering insurance and charging you extra for it, with very few questions, but if you actually have to use it, they do everything in their power not to honor it.

I'm sorry to hear about this Dusan. I've had so many things ruined it's not even funny. Headstocks snapped, recording equipment, you name it. It makes you feel helpless. And FedEx or UPS, same difference - they will do all they can to avoid paying. Whatever you do, don't get a repair estimate - they will try and just pay for the repair.

Bottom line is that everything that's been damaged has been coming to me and has, even with the best of intentions, been improperly packed (ie, the guitar slides in the case upon impact, shattering the neck, or the headstock is touching the end of the case). I'm not saying that was your problem, but in my case, the shipper had tried to pack well, but didn't pack it for that tumble off a 20 ft high conveyor.

Good luck with your claim. You'll get it.

I have never had a problem with FedEx, and I am STILL pi**ed off! :x What a bunch of BS from a company who can afford as many guitars as they want.

If this actually makes it to court, I hope the judge sees this company for what it is. In your case....liers and cheaters.

This story could have been about ANY of the shippers. Not that there is that many these days. ALL big companies tell their employees to delay. It's a big game. There are insurance companies that will insure your guitar from the time you purchase it until the time you sell it. When I bought my last bass, I called Heritage Insurance with the serial number and put it on MY policy before it was even shipped. I never had a claim with them, but the policy is originated with Travelers, and I have had homeowner claims with them, and they treated me VERY well. I think the minimum insurance premium is around $225 per year. And this cover your gear at GIGS!!!!

I do the same thing by e-mailing Heritage Insurance before a guitar is shipped. No worries with 'em. I'm as happy as a clam at high tide to be insured with Heritage. Although I've never initiated a claim with 'em, I swear by 'em. Joan is one of the VPs and she has take extremely good care of my instruments and me. The annual premium is $250 and coverage is underwritten by Hartford Insurance. Peace, out.......Goofyfoot.

Have you thought about suing FedEx if they won't repair for the damage?

Weird, on Monday, a FedEx van backed into my mom's car the other day and did a hit-and-run, too. Fortuneately, for my mom, a rep at the local FedEx apologized and promised to repair the damage.

Seems like you and my mom should become friends, eh, Dusan?

jake your mom is lucky! it wouldn't go that easy if her car was a package....

i don't want them to pay for repair i want them to pay the whole insured value. that is the point of insurance. my lawyer will get them pay - he is very good at that...

Good luck with it, Dusan.

Definitely contact Heritage without delay.

Like I said before, their lawyers cost way more than their claims reps do. Court sounds like the best option now.
