Cheyenne I's - production years?

Can someone tell me the years of production for the Cheyenne I's? I believe mine is a '93 (starts with E6). Got me wondering when they started and finished with this model

I heard 1993 to 1996 but I don't remember where I heard that and how reliable the info source was. I played mine last night. Do you still like yours? Are your fret ends sharp too? I had my luthier file them down, but the goof dug into the wood a little and didn't really fix the problem. So I did what I should have done in the first place, and took matters into my own hands. My brother has a lot of really fine swiss files that he uses for working on antique clock movements. I borrowed them and after a few hours of pain-in-the-@$$, its much better.

Hi Jeff,

I'm really digging mine. It's the most comfortable Ric I've ever played. Fret end protrude a bit, but nothing too bad. It is getting better as it is adjusting to the west coast climate too. I have not had any electric bass gigs since it arrived - only upright - but will be using it Saturday night.

Dennis - I'd be interested to know why you choose the I over the II? I really like mine, but have never played a II.

I have a '99 (December) 4004 Cheyenne and a '01 4004C-ii. Great basses both of them. I think the original Cheyenne was out of production by mid '00, but I'm not positive.

Tim,

At the time that I chose the I over the II, I really preferred the look of the maple walnut. I've never regretted it since I love the feel of it. I would love one of the translucent colored II's, ah so much time, so many Rics!!!

To Jeff R. & Steve C., I haven't abandoned the idea of changing her into a 5-string. Jeff, I think you should buy the cheyenne on eBay...then we could convert them at the same time...tempting?
