Rickenbaker Inspired Guitar
Not sure if this has been discussed before, but I just saw one of these in a local shop:

Re: Rickenbaker Inspired Guitar
Looks quite Moserite-ish as well, if not more so. I didn't see this at NAMM, but then again, there are at least four massive floors of exhibits at the show.
Re: Rickenbaker Inspired Guitar
My first thought also was it's more Mosrite than Rickenbacker. A Rickenrite? Mosbacker?
Re: Rickenbaker Inspired Guitar
Yeah my first thought was mosrite. Has there been any discussion about how these duesenbergs look rick enspired

Blechhhh...
Aside from the "German" carve detail along the edges, and possibly the colors, nothing Rickish about them.
Man, that is what I call clumsy design. If guitars were designed by the same folks that do the verification codes
for websites, they would look like these...

There's a write up on the Dorchester and the Richmond in the May '09 Guitar Player. The head stocks have a Rickish vibe to them. Not a fan of the Dorchester pick guard at all. Or the bridge and tail stop. Not my cup o tea.

I pulled it off the wall and had a brief strum, but it didn't seem remarkable, (especially for a $1000 CDN guitar). Supposedly this line is connected to Godin in some way.

Re: Rickenbaker Inspired Guitar
Besides Ric and Mosrite inspriation, I'd say that pickguard has a bit of Danelectro/Silvertone to it also.
And the bridge design is something I toyed with doing a long time ago to a Ric but never did - basically take the base plate and weld threaded bolts to it and put the nuts under the bridge to adjust height. Instead of a table setting on the floor (current Ric bridge design) it would be like attaching the legs of a table to the floor and letting the top rest on it!
I thought it might increase sustain and stability without losing the Ric sound and appearance.
Now my idea has been taken....

Expect nothing and you'll never be disappointed (and I mean that in an optimistic way).

It's kind of shaped like a hand clutching at straws.
