Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
When I said mistake I hope it was not taken as disrespect. That wasn't my meaning. Making Rickenbackers is a series of manufacturing processes. All processes have defect rates. It happens. That is why I am puzzled by this one because mistakes are usually fixed right away. The fact that this one persists makes me wonder if it is not a mistake but an intentional design change.paul_yan wrote:You're a braver man than I am, Ted. Your point well taken, Ted. No, we don't mean no disrespect to RIC. On the contrarty, we love Rick basses and hope they continue to get better and better and evolve to be The Ultimate Bass!

Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
I have to throw my two cents in again. I have had no problems with my 2008 and 2009 basses which have the same saddle height spec (by side-by-side visual comparison) as my 2007. The only difference to me is in the color of the material and the width of the posts.
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
I'm not sure what month my bass was made, but it's an '08. I got it in November. The end of my screw doesn't catch in the hole at all. It goes in, but doesn't catch. If I move the saddle forward, then it gets all floppy, the screw moves back and forth and the string will buzz. I am the original owner but I didn't get the warranty card sent in in time. Would I still be covered? I tried emailing Ric directly last week but no answer yet.

Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
If you have proof that you bought it you should be covered.
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
Yeah, I do still have the receipt for it.
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
They are pretty particular about that registration card but give them a call anyway. Maybe they can help you out.
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
Oh really? I hope they'll help me then. I've emailed them twice now and no answer.

Best to call them. I'm sure your email got caught in their spam filter.EagleMoon wrote:Oh really? I hope they'll help me then. I've emailed them twice now and no answer.
JETGLO should officially be renamed JETGLO ROCKS!
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
Wouldn't that be a bit odd for it to be caught in the spam filter? I did email them again and if I don't hear anything by tomorrow I'll call. Hope I don't end up having to fork out money for a Hipshot replacement.

Dude. If you're covered under warranty they'll replace it (or repair it). It's that simple. You just gotta give 'em a call. Personally I have never had much luck with their e-mail so I always make a point to call them.
Re: Bridge adjusting - saddle/screw loose.
RIC is really easy to reach on the phone and quite helpful. Call.

Most businesses have a spam filter that is very sensitive. There are clever ways that hackers and spammers like to send email.EagleMoon wrote:Wouldn't that be a bit odd for it to be caught in the spam filter?
