Re: 381 AFG
Wow!
Only took 3 years to come on the market!
Re: 381 AFG
Somebody please hand me the Kleenex box. I'm drooling. FYI: I'm a big fan of Dave's Guitar Shop as I've purchased five gits from Laun, one great sales rep. Over 'n out.......Goofyfoot.
Play on, pick often, jam with any Rickenbacker, and prosper.
Re: 381 AFG
Wow!
That is the very first 381 that I have seen that I would consider buying. I have never been a fan of the pickguard shape on the 381, but that guitar makes me look beyond that very small issue. It is drop dead gorgeous. Kudos to the artisans and luthiers at Rickenbacker.

A real stunner.
But... I think you might have to wear evening clothes to play something so posh!
It conjures images of a rich man's study. I see mahogany desks, ornate globes, Italian onyx bookends, and a bottle of Ardbeg when I look at this Ric. And there's probably a Bentley in the garage.

That would most definitely be the guitar to own. Beautiful, simply beautiful.

Oh my...!
This is the most beautiful Rick I have ever seen!
I called the store to check for the price - unfortunately I was only the 2nd to call for it - someone else managed to beat me to it
The nice lady said that the other guy buys lots of Ricks from them so hopefully it is a forumite, at least it will be in good hands...

So long and thanks for all the fish!

Re: 381 AFG
I guess I am in the minority when it comes to liking the color of those inlays.
Re: 381 AFG
Probably Damon. I rather enjoy the look of an "aged" guitar myself. But that sort of thing is the spice of life. Of course I am referring to people having different tastes and opinions.

I like 'em too Damon, but yes, I think we're in the minority.
I also think they look better on the full width inlays than the smaller triangles though.

Re: 381 AFG
I think im really in the minority when I say im not a fan of this one. The yellow just kills it for me. I really like when the binding/inlays "pop". Naturally aged is really cool cause it adds character, but artificially id say its as lame as fender's road worn series. I'd much rather grab a mapleglo or this MID at wildwood:

where the inlays really pop!
