What will be owned by Jake tomorrow?:
A. a sandwich
B. Spongebob Squarepants, The Complete First Season
C. Back hair
D. a new 1997 to replace the broken one (that WILL be repaired)
Spongebob Squarepants, The Complete First Season is the best season. And that is saying something because every season is fantastic.

Paul A. is the only one who got it right, I am getting a '89 1997SPC/1998 with "R" tailpiece. As Collin told me, it's as close as I can get to a 1998PT without the "windmill" pickguard, and frankly, I don't want that guard...look at Pete's actual guitar (left), and look at mine (right).

I traded Warpdrive/Cream City Music my 660/12TP for it, which I will miss greatly, but I have a feeling later in life, I will have another TP which will probably be just as good if not better than what I had (a '91 FG, mmm...)

My mom should be getting it tomorrow. Scotty, the phone that I took the "Christmas" pics of broke, and my mom's phone has a good camera, so I'll use that one.

Kenny, I don't know how I could possibly eat a backhair sandwich. Too gross for me :P

I can't help it . . . still doing the band/album thing . . . can't let these good ideas go to waste . . .

It's actually just a weird Ric quirk. I think the third pickup was only a special order (hence SPC), on the already existing model (1997) unlike the 1998 that was always a three pickup model, even though they are essentially the same guitar. The exception to this was the 1998PT, but it's truly the same thing....as Jake said- he's getting the same guitar (but much better......as shown, Townshend never wanted his picture on any of his Rics, even his sig. model!)

Even then.......IMO, you can have a 1997, and it not be a Rose Morris (based on the technicality that it was never sold to or distributed by Rose Morris! ). Same goes for vintage American Market 345S' etc.....part of the whole history of the instrument, I suppose.

Sorry, Gary, my bad. I accidentally deleted the image in my photobucket file. Anyway, it was a pic of a number of bottles of Elmer's glue.

Jake, for the uneducated, unknowing, unsophisticated among us out here, 8) :? :? :P :P can you clarify what the difference is in those two pickguards pictured .... other than the reflection of light differently, I am having a hard time figuring this one out. But I admit I don't know much about the Rose Morris models....

thanks

It arrived today...all I can say is "WOW"...the neck is considerably slimmer than the other 1997, and the three pickups make a world of difference in tone. I'm actually using the neck position more frequently than I used to with the other 1997, and it nails The Who and The Beatles sound much better. Compression makes it sound like a 60's Ric.

However, as disclosed over the phone with me, the guitar was not in the best cosmetic condition, but I don't care...it looks more "vintage" with all the battle scars and whatnot. I'm a player anyway, it doesn't matter.

Pics are on the way.

That's the first thing my mom told me when I opened the case, Paul. Then she said, "It sure it beautiful, honey"

What are the best guitar stands to use? I heard "A" stands are good, and I have one lying around...
