Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!
Re: Nyuk, Nyuk, Nyuk!
Well, before we all get a little too nostalgic for 'the good ol' days' that produced the original '3 Stooges', it bears pointing out that the Stooges were a rip-off of the Marx Bros., every bit as much as the Monkees were corporate America's lame attempt to 'counter' the Beatles...and the Flintstones were a ripoff of the Honeymooners, etc., etc...
There's nothing 'brand new' about Hollywood digging around in it's own belly-button lint for the 'next big thing'...that's what Hollywood has always done. If you're just now getting sick of that aspect, you're late to the party. We wrote a tune about this in PW3: "The Next Big Thing Might Be The Last".
And, Jim K, I don't have the bread to go out to movies either...but I make it my business to know about the small amount of good work that goes on in an otherwise fatuous, inconsequential industry...the aptly named 'tinseltown'...

Well said, Dane!
I'd just like to add that the person never lived that could crack me up like Groucho.
well, except maybe Jack Benny and Mary Livingston.
Charlie Chaplin was brilliant without any words at all.

Yes, but, technically speaking, you haven't actually met me yet...kiramdear wrote:...the person never lived that could crack me up like Groucho...
Chaplin visited Bali in the 1930's, and I guess he seriously 'wowed' 'em...they talked about him for decades.

Moe had the first and original Beatle haircut!
Leave blue green footprints that glow in the dark,
I hope they get home all right.

Just one more good reason to like the Beatles.Backpages66 wrote:Moe had the first and original Beatle haircut!
Oh, I'm surprised nobody posted a clip yet. This one has a nice musical number in it:
