I'll put it plain and simple, BEST IN THE BUSSINNESS, SECOND TO NONE, I may be alittle bias, however I have known Chris now 3 yrs and consider him a very, very, dear friend these days, and the reason for that is he is just not a dealer, he is a great human being , he not only will sell you an instrument, but back it fully and go the extra mile to make sure you are happy with your purchase, you dont have to take my word for it, there are many who feel the same way, so next time your looking to purchase a Ric, give Chris a call, and after you experience your first purchase from Chris and how well you are treated with dignity and respect, you wont want to deal with anyone else, trust me, I sure there are a couple more good dealers out there, but I already have the best there is so life is good, Chris your the man, its a pleasure not only being one of you customers, but a great honor being your friend.

I've been dealing with Chris for over three years now and he is one off the best dealers around .When I ask him to look for a guitar he makes it a point to call me if it's something I would want. To me customer service is important and Chris is the best.

Just spent a little time over there yesterday looking at amps. I ended up leaving with a wondeful used Peavey Bass Head for an incredible price. Also thrown into the deal was about an hour or so of very good conversation at no extra charge! I really do enjoy dropping by POTR. Everytime I stop by I have to remind myslef that Chris has a business to run and that I need to get going; otherwise I'd stay all day!

I wonder if he'd do a price match cause I got a quote from him and wildwood and wildwood was lower.....

The guys at Wildwood are good folks as well. I got a V381/12 BBR from them last year.

They've got a lot of RICs right now so perhaps that's a driving factor behind their pricing strategy.

By the way, my comical snippets aside, I have had nothing but the finest of deals with Chris at POTR. His descriptions have been more than accurate on "previously played" instruments and I have an acoustic here I hope will never leave the fold thanks to a nifty trade he engineered (sniff, good-bye 1997 et al).

Chris has been The Man for me with both new and used RICs.

Best,

Manta

All that I've bought from Pick of the Ricks are RIC strings. A hand written Thank You note is always included. I think that's pretty cool.

Met Chris at the Orlando guitar show a few weeks ago. Super nice guy to talk to, and obviously to deal with.

Chris, my friend Jeff says sorry he talked for so long!

Chris replaced an R tailpeice for me. He quoted me a time for the turn-around and it happened as exactly as he said. Great to deal with.

woodyng wrote:ok so i was just looking at the website scott linked, and noticed "curt mangan" strings. they show one bass set nickle rw 45-105 (labelled "LITE"?) has anybody tried these? the ad sez they are manufactured to rickenbacker gauge standard. i really like dr sunbeams a lot,but am intrigued.....yeah also all the good stuff i have heard about potr over the years makes me wish i lived nearby....
My Rick 12 wouldn't stay in tune until I had Curt's strings put on. Now, it plays great. I'm ready to have another set put on.

BTW, I do not change the strings myself on that guitar. I would F it up.

Chris has a buncha my money. I have also purchased Ricks from Zoo, Wildwood and Fred's and received very good service, but POTR is where I started my search (back when I had money).

Chris is the greatest, as most of you seem to agree. Only one problem with the guy. Back in '02, at the summer Philly guitar show, I snagged a drop-dead gorgeous Sea Green 620 from him with factory-installed vintage toaster pickups and vintage silver case upgrade. One-of-a-kind maybe?? Well this Chris fella' keeps trying to get the damned thing back from me. No dice!! So I get back at him by bringing it to the MARFs - visitation rights, ya' know. It's the least I can do for him.
