I know it's pointless to pine for the return of the F series, but.....Man, what a sweet looking guitar.

I have three favorites. The first is my 1965 360/12 MG. I like it because it is the first Rickenbacker that I owned, I have played the heck out of it and it stays in tune.
The second is my 370/12 RM JG, which was fairly well-used when I acquired it. I love the on-board compression and the 12-way bridge. It stays in tune no matter how often its played.
Finally, the one that has the fullest and widest bell-like sound is my 1965 1993. I don't know what it is about this guitar, but the neck seems much more solid (less "flexible") than my other hollowbody RIC 12-ers. This guitar is a joy to play and, yep, she stays in tune real good. [WTB: Guitar case vacuum cleaner]

Right now I'm enjoying the '90 370/12SPC JG a lot, mainly since it was sitting in the case broken for two years. I got it fixed just in time for SERF. Since then the only things sitting in the living room that get regular play are that and the 5002's. And the Rhodes. Even the acoustic is collecting dust.

Former owner here. Had a 360/12c63, then a 350/12v63. I preferred the little 350--I think it's just my natural preference for that particular body style. I just never really bonded with the 360--I recognized her for the beautiful instrument she was, but we just didn't click.
I sold my 350 because I simply wasn't playing her that much..not ruling out picking another one up at some point, and if I do, I think it will be this model.

I've got a 1980 standard 360-12 FG, and a 2007 360C63/12. I love the vibe of the C63, but honestly my '80 360-12 is one of the easiest guitars I've ever played in my life. Of all the 20+ guitars I've got, that one has the best feeling neck and the best action, without a doubt -- and after almost 30 years, not even any fret buzz. The only other guitar that even comes close is a late 80s Ovation. I've spent a lot of time in the past trying to get the same kind of feel on my OTHER guitars, and it just can't be done.
Plus, my '80 360-12 is my 2nd-ever guitar and first 12-string, so there's a large sentimental touch to it too. And, I just recently gave it the "patented Jingle-Jangle Scratch-X/Zymol treatment", and my gosh, it's beautiful. I can't believe how much difference those treatments can make.

Ron -- I saw pics of that 1993 in the register...the headstock looks like it had been repaired back onto the body...PT connection?
Jdog -- what happened to the 370/12SPC? Did you smash it? How does it sound with a JangleBox?

Jake, you are correct about the repaired headstock. I acquired this 1993 many years ago from a seller in Stralia with a headstock repair done there. It appears that the repair is limited to the headstock/neck joint and it makes that area a bit more hefty and solid.JakeK wrote:Ron -- I saw pics of that 1993 in the register...the headstock looks like it had been repaired back onto the body...PT connection?
Oh, BTW, the seller said he bought if off some guy named "Townhead" or something like that.

I don't think we've heard from any 381/12 owners. Doesn't anyone fancy the famous "German-carve" model?
How about the 360/12 V64?

I like my 330-12 just fine, but I would like it a litle more if it had a wider neck.

Bob -- I think ALL of us want a hollowbody Ric 12-string with a wider neck!
Ron -- I also saw in the register you have two '65 360/12's in MG. Which one is the one you posted here?

I'm fine with the neck width. Maybe I have small fingers, or I'm just used to the width on my 330, but I had no trouble with the 360/12 I owned.JakeK wrote:Bob -- I think ALL of us want a hollowbody Ric 12-string with a wider neck!![]()

Re: What's your favorite RIC 12-string model, and why?
The reason I bought a 660/12 is after trying a 620/12 at Voltage Guitars, my first impression was too narrow a neck. But after playing a few 360/12's at a SoCalCon, then seeing and playing a '66 360/12, I realized it was a non issue for me, the narrower neck just took a bit of time to learn. And I consider my fingers big (I can barre with my fingertips - but then again, I can do clear articulate arpeggios on the 12, too). To each his own, but I don't feel the need for RIC to change the classic profile of the 3- series necks.
I do plan on getting a new 360/12 someday.
