The bass was in my office, but it was not completed yet. It had been clear coated over a year ago and I hung it up with the intention of devising a cool new color. But, as my days are fairly hectic around the factory, I forgot about it. When I came back to it, I thought (given the birdseye) it would look best as an MG.

I'm going to interpret that post as saying, "The 4002 is going to be reissued en masse." Sweet!
...jk jk... Seriously, a sweet one-off.

And I heartily agree with you! Thanks for leaving it MG.RIC_FACTORY wrote:The bass was in my office, but it was not completed yet. Now, if only I could find a few extra grand lying around with nothing else to do...
I have NO idea what to do with those skinny stringed things... I'm just a bass player...

That's a great looking bass.
Can I bit thick here - I was just wondering about a couple of the abbreviations used -
CB/BT, FWI?
Apologies and a red face in advance.....

I think way too much is getting read into this RIC outlet offering. I doubt it is a "tester" or hint of the 4002 being reintroduced. I think it's just the company using what they have laying around to make something unique. Period. Maybe somewhere in here there is a clue that the 4004/5=er is on the near horizon or that this is the first step to the 4005 being brought back.

Ian, if you have Excel, or the Microsoft Excel reader available for free from their site, look at the third sheet of the neck measurement spreadsheet (.xls) - it has all the abbreviations and their meanings.spongebob wrote:That's a great looking bass.

Thanks, Ben...I knew there was a good reason but unable to guess, and curious as could be.RIC_FACTORY wrote:The bass was in my office, but it was not completed yet. And yes, thank you for deciding on mapleglo.
A beautiful piece of wood like that deserves to be seen as well as heard.
