It's been my experience that the common suspicion that someone does this to "get a rise" or to "cause controversy" is seldom true. These people, when met and tested face-to-face, are really that way!!! (I'm thinking of the Ol' Emperor, C**lter, L*mb **gh, etc.)

Godin makes them. We had a write-up in Premier Guitar a month or so ago. The guy liked the guitar quite a bit. They have a very generic retro look; part Rick, part Mosrite, part Danelectro. I'd give it a try if I saw one. Nothing to lose, right? The price is pretty reasonable, as I recall. The black one looks nice, the sunburst is tacky though.
