Not just for basses ...
...the Combo 600 and 800 sport horseshoe pickups in the bridge position. Are there any other guitar models besides these two with that distinction?
All I wanna do is rock!

Combo 850. Classic horseshoe/toaster combination.
Re: Not just for basses ...
I guess the old Electro lap steels don't count, do they? Someday I want to get my hands on one of those.

No, Jim, I'm thinking about rock 'n' roll.
Thanks, Jeff. I think I just established a new personal holy grail. I can't describe my reaction to these models
like my frogs snapping at the feeding tongs ...
there are tongue-prints on my monitor now
But tell me more, please, if you can. I've been searching for clips. I don't trust the Steppenwolf one because they're lipsyncing.

Too bad you were not at MARF II, there were a few items that would have gotten your heart all a flutter!

(recovers her balance) I really do need to get out more.
Ah, but the 850 is full-scale. The others are short IIRC. What are these appraised at nowadays? Made from '54 thru '57?

The Johns (S & W) would be better for that info.kiramdear wrote:What are these appraised at nowadays? Made from '54 thru '57?

Thanks. I think I see my signature model in the works. Buy I like the short ones better, even with only one pickup.
And those are the only models with horseshoes that Rickenbacker made?

Don't forget the SP and S59 from the 40's.

We have to mention the Ken Roberts model, also, if we are including acoustic models.jdogric12aolcom wrote:Don't forget the SP and S59 from the 40's.

Are there any combo 600 sound clips floating around? Does the HS in the bridge position sound quite similar to a toaster/high gain? I'm curious.. these guitars looks especially awesome
