Neck finish wear from strings

Post by upstairsdave »

Can anyone tell me how to repair the finish on the neck under the fourth string? You can see where the round wound string scratched through the finish. What kind of costing does Rickenbacker use on their necks?

my 81 4003 has marks all over the place from round wounds (I use flats) they just add charactor that's all. It's one of my nicest playing Ric's.

Yeah, I spoke with another player and he said leave it alone or I will detract from the value of the guitar. I just hate to go into the wood.

When you get it re-fretted, they'll need to strip the finish, anyway, so you might as well wait until then.
My basses are Rickenbackers. My synthesizers and recording gear are analog.
