I have been VERY good this year.....
So....If you can possibly get your elves working on one of these for me, I would greatly appreciate it!! (call Ted Staberow if you need any references)
The 4002 sounds like a 4001 with some extras. There is a depth and clarity that the 4001 simply does not have. The low-end is more pronounced without being muddy. I have played a lot of Rush on this bass. It can sound remarkably like a Jazz Bass as well. I like to play Jaco's Portrait of Tracy on my 4002. There is a harmonic that requires fretting the A string at the 2nd fret and striking the harmonic at the 6th fret. I can barely reach it on my Jazz but the 33 1/4 inch scale of the Rick brings it into reach quite nicely. If you can find one you will probably keep it the rest of your life. It is a truly wonderful bass in every respect. Maybe some day Rickenbacker will reissue it.
