The Parker bass was all wood, no foam, like some of Ken's guitars had in them.
Maybe RIC will release a shortscale hollowbody violin shaped bass, given that the C64 and C64S were related to Macca and Ben did say there was some overlap to those models!

Seeing the Shuttles launch is one of the things I really miss after leaving Florida. I used to drive out to the space coast any chance I got, especially for a night or morning launch, although I could see and sometimes even hear them go from my apartment in Orlando. For night and morning launches, if it were very quiet, you could hear / feel a small rumble, almost like a tiny earthquake, as it passed through the state. The double sonic booms at landing were fun too! Very much like the growl / thump expected to be produced by the next RIC Bass!!!

Liking the contours of the 4004 series, only adding fretboard inlays would be interesting. The binding would introduce square edges. Now fretboard binding....
What are the tuners used on the 4004 series anyway? Are they Schaller M4's or something ? I want to experiment with all black hardware on my Lar"E"do, (sorry inside joke), but Im not sure what to buy. Info would ba appreciated.

I like the look and higher tuning ratio of RIC/Schaller vintage tuners better. I was able to score the last set of gold ones on the RIC boutique a few years ago. As for the guard Paul, it's clear plexi with gold paint sprayed on the back. It seems it doesn't quite match the gold of the TRC, so I may see if I can remove the paint and come up with a better match or have Pickguardian make one since I know they have the proper paint code. Scott, I will have a set of black RIC/Schaller vintage tuners coming in soon if you're interested. Because the 4004 headstocks are SOMETIMES a bit narrower, it's a good idea to measure first or check the fit with another tuner first.
I actually didn't do that part of the work. It was done by Bruce Johnson, the same guy who did my 4008CS and custom double neck. He pulled the frets and then replaced them with strips of white ABS cut at the same radius as the fretboard. After that he brushed on a clear watery epoxy till it would soak in no more and then sanded the board smooth.
