1982-1983 it seems the supply of Kluson tuners was running-out and Grovers were used on some models. I have a 1983 ES-16 with original Grovers.

Here's a pic of a 1963 and 1983 ES-16:

Dave, I too, have an '83 ES-16. It seems to have been the last run of these little gems. PM me with your serial #--they could be bruthas.

Paul, It is WE907. I did not get a case with it. Did you get an OHSC, and if so what type was it?

I have some messages just sitting in my PM outbox that won't be sent. I am using Safari browser on an iMac and Mac notebook from 2006, with Leopard OS fully updated. Has anyone else had problems with the PMs on Macs, should I use Firefox?

Has nothing to do with the browser. Outbox means they have been sent, but not read by the recipient.

My September 1974 480 MG has Klusons:
Sept 1974 480 tuners
Sept 1974 480 tuners
But my September 1986 320 Red has black Grovers:
Sept 1986 320 tuners
Sept 1986 320 tuners
It is better, of course, to know useless things than to know nothing. - Seneca

I really need a good case for my recently purchased '75 Jetglo 480 (definitely not mint).

Can anyone suggest one?

Both my '73 and '81 Burgandyglo 480's have Kluson tuners.

I think the 481's may have come with Grover's back then.

My '74 480 has Klusons. My '75 481 has Grovers. The factory consesus seems to have been that Grover made a tuner more appropriate for a "deluxe" model.
