I know you can get a toaster in a new 4003 but can you get a dock neck on a 4003. I'm just not a fan of the inlays. I'm sure i'll get some guff for that one but hey, as I always say, One man's trash is another man's trash!!

I take it that you mean a "dot" neck and the answer is "no". Get on the hunt for a used 4001V63 or 4003s for your non-deluxe needs.

I think the VP option was discontinued. If so, no more toasters on 4003s.

I agree, the fewer the inlays the better. Dot inlays are my favorite, or perhaps no inlays at all. Rickenbacker's inlay formula does make the dots look very pretty, however. How to acquire one like this? Like above, just get an "S" model or a V63 or C series bass.
