Thank you Joey...like I said, I have been mulling it over since I got the bass and your tutorial was excellent.

Re: Joey's notes
staying on the subject of the pickup cover...again while trolling the net...I came across a post from John Hall where he said that you could keep the pickup cover on but lower in down below the strings. Never elaborated though...anyone ever hear of that and if so, how to do it?
Re: Joey's notes
He never did clarify that. None of us could suss it out either - seems the pickup poles would be quite a ways from the strings....

Re: Joey's notes
Before I put the site on it's new server, I was thinking about changing the name to from joeysbassnotes.com to rickenbrother.com, then I could add apply info Rickenbacker guitars. The site geared towards Rickenbacker anyway. There are plenty enough pictures of Rick guitars on the site already from confluences and the setup and care info pretty much applies to the guitars as well. Any thoughts, feedback?

Re: Joey's notes
Joey: Both nice names, but I would keep Joeysbassnotes as it is more self-evident and has an internet history already established.
Life, as with music, often requires one to let go of the melody and listen to the rhythm

That's true, Peter. Though I might be able to get both domain names.

I agree with Peter, Joey. Joey's Bass Notes is a better name for the site.

I agree with Kira and Peter. You've established a legacy with the Joey's Bass Notes name
Hope to see your site up and running soon...

Re: Joey's notes
If you can get both, just have the one point to the other. If you're using 1&1, it's pretty simple enough to do. You can either hard code it manually or use a redirect in their control panel (I think).
I recommend 1&1. I've used them for the SOs site for some time. I can't say how well godaddy works, but I do know that in a moment of mental lapse, I registered one of my own domains at godaddy and have been unable to transfer it out of godaddy. It looks like it's something I have to call and complain about and I'm just not bothering--so it's been parked for like 2 years.
On another note, I didn't even know this site existed so I'm anxious to see what's there.

Re: Joey's notes
Not that I have gddaddy, but I may have a similar problem getting joeysbassnotes.com transferred. That's why I was asking opinions or otherwise it would have been back up already.Tarrbot wrote:I registered one of my own domains at godaddy and have been unable to transfer it out of godaddy.

They try to keep you subscribing so it takes a bit of persistence, but in the end they have to co-operate with your wishes under the law. We had that problem too with DoDaddy but we didn't let them snow us.
