Just link it to the "here's my new 360/12 FG" thread...and then order something else to keep this one going.

I actually started this thread many months ago as a public service to all those (including me, at the time) who were suffering in silence, without a place to discuss their frustrations of having a Rick on order and thinking that it was never going to arrive; those who checked the shipping list several times a day (like me), and those who just needed a sympathetic ear and some kind words from people who knew and fully understood what they were feeling.

Many of us have since felt the joy of receiving our new Ricks, and others are still fighting the good fight, the war of nerves, and the incessant scanning of the shipping list. For those who are still waiting, their time is at hand. So far, over 3,800 hits have been received on this thread, which proves that Rick group therapy is much needed and appreciated. And that's great news.

Now the bad news:

We've all been diagnosed with an incurable disease called RAS, which could have a serious future complication called COY.

Someday soon, we will all want another Rick, and the cycle will begin anew.

And this thread will ever end.....!

Write on!

So, here's a question that's germane to the thread. From the time a guitar goes into paint, on average how long does it take until the guitar is shipped?

Based on Eric's comments that 360/12s had been in paint all last I assumed that they would start to ship NLT early this week....apparently my ability to estimate process lead time needs improvement...

Having no concept of how to estimate lead time, I've been checking the shipping list since about the 15th of March, and since the 1st of April, at least twice daily. And since last Monday, probably three times daily. No changes yet. And I keep in mind that Pacific Time is two hours behind Central Time, US.

Hey jim,

If it helps, I put a deposit on a 36012c64 on 3/1/2007 at Pic of the Rics that they ordered in April of 2006. I thought since it was ordered almost a year before I put down the deposit I might not have to wait that long.

Well, I'm at 2 years plus and the guitar is on 3.

I just put it out of my mind. I've bought a few other Rics in the meantime; and the positive is that I put my deposit down before the price increase, you probably did too.

So................when I do finally get it, I will be paying less for a new one than they go for used online. That thought helps me when I get down.

Anyway, just wanted you to know you're not alone!

Thanks, Dan. Yeah, I'm getting my 360 12 string at the '07 price.

I've noticed that some 360/12s are going out the door. Most seem to be jetglo, however. I'm trying not to get my hopes up too high. On the other hand, it might be this month that I'll be an official Rickenbacker Packer. All I can say is, stay tuned.

Hey Jim

It's Gonna Happen!

Now, here's a big "IF"....

If you are possibly contemplating purchasing a matching 6-string 360 FG, they are shipping NOW!.

It may be worth it to get a zero-interest credit card and get it NOW. I'd hate to see you go through this torture again!

I couldn't possibly swing another high end guitar purchase this year. Household finances and all that...

I think my next strategy will be just to take my time, put a few bucks aside as I can, and then see what's out there. I don't think I'll place an order, but rather look around and see who has what at the time I have the bread.

There are a couple of items I'd like to have, and one is a Rick lap steel. I've seen some for auction on eBay that I could have bid on after the 360/12 gets here. I'm also thinking about a Gretsch perhaps. Or, there's a 370/6 FG on consignment at a guitar store here in Lawrence. So there are a few different ways to go here, and all look pretty attractive.

Meanwhile, I've got song writing on my mind, and I'd also like to go back into the studio....Lap steel, fiddle, Rick 12...country/rock with jangle, anyone?

P.S. You think I'm gonna make 2K posts before the Awaited One arrives?

Not to be a downer, but with so few to go, I'd vote "yes".....unless you decide to go radio silent

Well here's a clue; if I did happen to go radio silent, that would be a good indicator that the Awaited One had arrived, and I'm just too busy to be bothered, if you know what I mean. Because as we all know..."it didn't happen without pix."

Just went over to corporate. And it doesn't look good. Maybe another week of 360/12 production...maybe. That was the hint. I'm starting to lose it, folks.
