Having asked about sidemen on Searchers recordings, the question came to mind whether any of the Searchers ever played as a sideman, credited or not, on anybody else's record(s). I gather Chris did some record producing before he left the business. Did he sit in for any of the acts he recorded? Have any of the others sit in for their Liverpool contemporaries?
As a related sidenote, does anyone know how much input the band had on the production of their records. Example: The Beatles wanted horns on some of their tracks-"Got to Get You Into My Life"-they got horns. They eventually almost produce themselves with a little help from George Martin. I think I read that Tony Hatch decided on the strings on "What Have They Done to the Rain", but Chris decided on bongoes. Any other examples? Why did they select the stringed version of "I Don't Want To Go On Without You", when the alternate take on Disc 3 of the 30th Anniversary set was better. Their decision, or Hatch's?
Sidemen
I am wondering if Spencer James received assistance from any of the other Searchers in his Tides Of Time CD.

I have recently learned that Spencers' project did not involve any Searchers with the exception of himself.
