I've said it here before but I absolutely hate these people that strip otherwise good instruments, and sell off the bits for profit. I know it's perfectly legit, but is seems so snakey and wastefull.

But I mean, if you had a great Ric bass that was damaged, and needed new parts, you'd be pretty grateful that someone was willing to part out such a rare bass, I would think.

Not that there isn't a market for this stuff, there is. It just seems unethical to me.

Just an update to let you all know that I followed this advice :)

I actually ended up trading that 4001, and bought a new 4003. Here she is:
