Chris did you name Zak after Ringos son?
Ted, I don't name them either, I just say my 78 or my 95 etc.
Actually I named one once after a girl, I lost both, I haven't named one since.

Bob, I believe Chris named it after the serial number (ZK). I used to call my basses by the price I paid for them ("the 650 P") if I had more than one of a certain model, but as for the Shadow, it already has a name, right?

So the mortal members of this forum account for about 12 percent of the total Shadow production. Does anyone know for sure how many were made?

That is amazing. There are about 200 4002's. There are what, only 2 or 3 in this group. Where are the rest of them?!

Nice 800th post, Jared....it's all about GAS!!

Ted, judging from some of your pictures, I think you already have GAS and don't even know it!!

I currently have 6 RIC basses ,a RIC guitar, a Strat, an OLP MM1 guitar and am working on another RIC bass....Oh yeah, I have GAS...I am sick....

Ted, JH has stated here that for Guitar Center's 25th anniversary, there was one Shadow made for each store in existence at that time. I believe that it was roughly the '86-'90 time frame that they were produced. If you check out GC's website and check out their history section, you can roughly figure out that there were only about 50 stores in existence at that time. That makes the Shadow one of the very rarest of Rickenbackers!!!
