Anone know where I can find the plans or dimensions inside for the old 66 single 15" showman speaker cab.? I need to build 2 of them for a pair of D140's I found. I also need to put an Altec 421A into something, anyone got any ideas?....thanks and cheers.....R

Richard, it looks like the single 15" cabinet would be:
Showman 12 & 15: 24½ x 36 x 11½
http://www.ampwares.com/amp.asp?id=85

IIRC, there was some website selling plans for vintage cabinets like this, but I can't remember where I might have seen that.

thank you Gary; It is the 241/2 x36 cab, but I've got to get the insides as well as what thickness they used around the perimiter of the front of the baffle,to lift the grill cloth off of the front of the baffle board, and what thickness they used for the back panel of the cab....cheers...R

I think you can be pretty safe using 7/8" for the thickness of the panels including the Tolex to figure out the I.D. with 1" depth from the front of the cab to the front of the baffle board.

Thanks Jeff; I'll set the front baffle back an inch and use 3/4" ply, and i'll find something 1/8" to raise the grill cloth off the baffle, but for some reason I'm not sure that fender used the same thickness material for the back, maybe George can pipe up as I think he had a dual cabinet appart recently....cheers ....R

Thank you George; I also have to find out more about the tone ring that they used as it was a different sort of porting method....Cheers...R

Cab back Richard..power drill is charging up (many screws on back!) I'm thinking the back panel is 1/4" but will check...

Thanks George; I seem to recall something like that for the back also. I don't think I'm going to get a pair of 15" tone rings as mojo has discontinued stocking the 15" version and they have no plans on restocking said item, anybody got a pair to sell? I'll most likely now just clone the 2 15" cab like yours George, and see if my amp guy can find a 4 ohm tap in my 66 bf brain....cheers R
